How to Remove Author & Created Date From Articles in Joomla 1.6

I ran into an issue with a couple of homepage articles in Joomla 1.6 that would not allow me to set the author, date and time to not display either at the article or global level. I found a way to do this in the code.

In the root directory, go language/en-GB
Modify ‘en-GB.com_content.ini to not include anything between the quotes for the following:

COM_CONTENT_WRITTEN_BY=”" (author)
COM_CONTENT_CREATED_DATE_ON=”" (created date)

Save and upload.

How to Add YouTube Videos or iFrames to Joomla Pages

We ran into this twice recently when trying to add YouTube videos or other iFrame elements to our Joomla pages. The code cleaner removes the code from the page upon save, so the solution is to turn off the code cleaner.

Go to plugins.
Find the editor you are using (commonly TinyMCE).
On the right side, change Clean code on load = No.
Clean code on save = Never.

From there, your code should remain intact when you save allowing you to add YouTube or other iFrame elements to your Joomla pages.
